Vintage Greeting Cards
At the antiques fair, I bought this vintage greeting card box, which, to my delight, also held some pretty unused cards.....

Sweet Little Kitty "To Cheer You"....

This one is tiny ~ maybe a couple of inches tall ~

These were my only purchase of the day ~ it was a scorcher, and the heat wilted me quickly! But I'm happy to have this sweet old box of cards to add to my collection.

Hope you had a lovely weekend too! Thanks for stopping by!!

Remember the chippy birdcage I bought recently? Well, now it's also "chirpy", with the addition of these impatiens and this little birdie on its perch.

My inspiration came from a lovely birdcage I saw on blog, though I cannot seem to locate it now, to share with you!

But, thank you, to whomever it was, and thank you all for the kind visits, comments, and inspiration you give to me every day! :)
Edited to add: I finally found the origin of my inspiration for this! Donna of Enchanted Cottage; take a look at her pretty birdcage! Thanks, Donna!!

Remembering my wonderful dad on Father's Day........

I love the way my dad is looking at me in these photos ~
such love and joy!
I was blessed with a wonderful father. So much of what I am, is because of him ~ my love for flowers, music, singing, and art.

To all of you who have your fathers still with you here on earth, enjoy & give them an extra hug!
And to those like me, who are missing their fathers today ~ hugs & blessings ~ I hope your memories are sweet like mine!

Another Makeover?

This could also be entitled "Don't Sit Still Or I Might Paint You"!

Found this great old frame at a garage sale today, and knew exactly how I wanted it to look by the end of the day....

Which, of course, involved paint and pink.....

The vintage wallpaper I ordered from Holly arrived yesterday; what perfect timing for my project!

Please do stop by again soon; I really won't paint you!! :)

My Latest Makeover

I bought this little footstool at a yard sale several years back, and I always thought of transforming it.

I liked the needlepoint, but didn't care much for the dark green fringe trim glued on it!

So, today, I painted it Heirloom White, removed the very-stubborn trim :) and added a vintage crochet piece.

Much better!!

My birthday present from my hubby Chris (that I picked out myself -- the present, not Chris -- well, okay, I picked him out myself too ;)

Anyway ~ I ordered this from The Charming Cherub on Lollishops.
It is a broken china pendant/brooch, made from an old calendar plate. I love that it bluebirds and my birthday month, and in a fun coincidence, it even has the day I was born falling on the correct day of the week!

Hope your week is off to a good start! Thanks for stopping by!!

Vintage Japan S&P's ~ I have a small collection of these ~
BIG surprise, right?

Hope you are having a lovely weekend. I am cleaning. whee!!!!!

Thrifting Thursday
Old barkcloth pillow.
Pretty rose plate.
The lid on this vintage hatbox is unusual, with it's rhinestone accents.
From "Paris".
Vintage needle case; the graphics on the front remind me of Mary Engelbreit.
The back of the sewing kit.
And the inside.
Will store goodies in my studio in these beauties!
And make something pretty out of this barkcloth-era fabric. There are three panels.

Today was yard-sale day around here, so hubby and I spent a couple of hours "sale-ing" this morning. I am happy with my finds. Hope you are having a happy day too!

Mirror Makeover

This is "after" ~ I finally painted this mirror a creamy white...... I should have taken a "plain" before pic....

But here is one from Christmas, so you can see it was BRIGHT gold. Didn't look bad at Christmastime, but too bright for the rest of the year.

Don'cha love paint?

Strawberry Festival

We went to our local Strawberry Festival over the weekend.

In the town circle, they even tint the fountain pink.

They have straweberry everything, but the biggest hit is these strawberry donuts. The line is sometimes hours long to wait for them.
Mmmmm, strawberry cheesecake!

Strawberry Salsa? I couldn't get close enough to see what kind of chips they served with it.
Does that sign on the left say Strawberry Sushi?

Yep! And Yuck!
Strawberry Sundae on a Stick Strawberry Shortcake....And just good ol' Strawberries plain!

The entertainment was outstanding (not that I'm biased at all -- that's Brad on the right ;)
And the crowd was awesome (oldest son Andrew and his sweet girlfriend Alli :)
My favorite local bakery even got in on the act by offering chocolate-covered strawberries, and topping their yummy chocolate brownies with strawberries.
Hope you enjoyed coming along with me to the Strawberry Festival!
