FLEA MARKET FRIDAY

Flea Market Friday is back!! Please note, today's items include postage, so you know exactly what the price is upfront! Happy Shopping!!Cute little vintage notions holder. Wooden, made to hang (see holes at top) but also sets flat.

$9 including postage. Sold ~ Thanks, N. :)

Enamelware lid ~ I don't know that this is truly vintage, or just made to look so. It has some red/black chippy paint around the edges. I bought this to display vintage dishtowels from, but I have no more kitchen wall space! $5 includes postage.
Not vintage, just cute (and small). Did you ever sell lemonade at a stand as a child? We sold KoolAid, not very successfully, as we lived in the country! $3 includes postage.
Pink Quilt Pig. I call her Petunia, but if you "adopt" her, you can name her whatever you like!
$5 includes postage. SOLD ~ Petunia has been adopted! Thank you, D. :)

Sweet little ceramic Christmas village, covered in white glitter. Lights up (a few of the little "bulbs" are missing here and there, but I didn't even notice until I was taking the picture! )

$12 includes postage.

I know Christmas seems a long way off, but here's a cute little vintage village ~ plastic houses that light up when placed over miniature lights (there is a set included but it doesn't light up).

$8 includes shipping. SOLD ~ Thank you, S!!

I have a lot of things to do today, so what am I doing? Playing with the vintage "greenhouse" I bought at a yard sale a year or two ago. It's one of my favorite finds ever, but has been empty, and so today I decided to display it. (I'm very good at procrastinating from what really needs to be done! :)

Thanks to those of you who left the birthday wishes for Andrew yesterday. We appreciate them!! I made him Coca-Cola cake -- YUM!!
P.S. I'll be back with Flea Market Friday tomorrow! :)

Our oldest son, Andrew, turns 22 today. He is our firstborn........ how tiny and precious he was the day he was born. Not so tiny now, but still as precious. Happy Birthday, Andrew!! :)

My new purse arrived from Berry Lane!!

It is sooooo pretty! Vintage roses adorn the front....... softly lined with pockets inside. I have a *thing* for purses. For a lot of women; it's shoes. I don't have a lot of shoes, but I cannot seem to resist a pretty purse (as my husband Chris will readily agree)

Plus look what was enclosed inside, made just for me (the advantage of being internet/bloggy friends with those from whom you order! :) These tags are so very sweet; I love them. I put one of the tags up on my inspiration board..... Thank you so much, Wendy!!
Hope you all are enjoying lovely weeks. Can you believe it's the weekend already? YAY!! :)

We did some slight furniture moving in our bedroom over the weekend, so of course I had to completely re-decorate the top of the armoire! I already had some birdcages up there, but I tweaked, added, etc.

How was your weekend?

Dancing for Joy.....

.....With my new supplies I purchased from Cindy at JunqueArt on etsy.

Two gorgeous pieces of vintage wallpaper, shown here among my other pretty papers....... I think I might line my little pink metal cabinet with one of them......
I also bought some pretty pink velvet ribbon and pink seam binding..... and of course the pink ballerinas.
Cindy packages everything so nicely; it's like opening presents!!

Thank you for your comments on the previous post, I'm glad you enjoyed Brad's prank too!
Also, I appreciate your comments about my new header; I just experimented with some of my photos that had the *feel* of my blog; and I thank you for being so kind about my "amateur efforts".

No Foolin'.......
You all remember Dottie...... here's a pic of Brad with her from last year (his hair was wet)..... see her shirt, it says "I'm With the Band". Anyhoo, Dottie is in quite the disarray right now and needs some major intervention, but that's another story. Suffice it to say that she didn't fare too well during a ride in the country -- in a shopping cart.

What I want to share today is this..... My husband and I had lunch with Brad this afternoon after his college classes -- he will graduate H.S. this year, but is actually taking his first year of college since he finished all his H.S. classes early -- level-headed boy, that one.... or so we thought -- So he tells us at lunch that he has an idea to "take a year of college" next year and work full time at the restaurant. Caught off-guard, we quickly (and amazingly calmly) tell him why this is not a good idea. To which he grins and says "April Fools!!!!!". What a stinker!!

I've been going through old photos for his grad. celebration, and here he is on his first day of "Thursday School" at the ripe old age of three with his little bookbag and his Thomas lunchbox. Where did those years go? Wasn't that only yesterday?

~Pink Velvet Roses~

At the thrift store, I found four pink velvet roses, and two pretty rose teacups.

In the background is a gorgeous piece of fabric I purchased from Polly. I think I will make a pillow or two out of it.Thank you so much for all the well wishes. I am doing better and am able to get a few things done as long as I rest in-between. I actually planted some seeds in the secret garden -- the throw-them-on-the-ground-and-moisten-them kind --the seed packet promises beautiful glorious flowers in about 1-1/2 months, just in time for Brad's graduation party. We shall see! :)

She knows she's pretty.....
My little niece, not quite two, was a flower girl at the wedding.....
Here she is at the reception, twirling around in her pretty yellow dress.

I apologize that there will be no Flea Market Friday tomorrow. I have a pinched sciatic nerve -- not even sure how I got that -- but sitting at the computer is painful -- arrggh! If I position the laptop in bed *just so*, I can still read everyone's blogs, though, so thank you for all the pretties you are sharing!
Oh, and I do have some pretty magazines I've been enjoying. Have you seen the latest Romantic Country?!! OOoooooo and aaaaaaaaahhhh!!!

A lovely weekend for a wedding.......
I just love weddings, do you? My "baby brother-in-law", age 23, is getting married this weekend.

We will be attending the rehearsal dinner tomorrow night, and the wedding on Saturday, so there will be no Flea Market Friday on my blog tomorrow. I thought I'd just share with you these vintage wedding tags I made, since I am in a wedding mood!

They won't be going to the happy couple though; I think their taste is more modern than mine, as a lot of young couples are.........
I wish them the best and much happiness, as is always my wish for all of you too! I hope you will have a lovely Easter weekend; I'll try to post a little Easter decor by Sunday! :)

It's Flea Market Friday!!

Vintage lace bedcaps, lined, elastacized...... one pale blue, one pink; $5 each. Vintage brushed floral print in frame. Not an actual painting, but has "brush strokes" over the print to give it a painted effect. Nice vintage frame, approx. 12" x 14". $7

Sweet little vintage lidded trinket dish with pretty roses. $4

Two vintage schooner prints, approx. 6" x 8". Nice condition, no rips (tiny bit of "wear" on the edges). Great vibrant colors! $5 for the pair.

The baby ones have a little yellowing on their snouts where their beaded noses were glued on. Momma is about five inches long; babies around three. Really cute!! $6 for the set. SOLD ~ thanks, K!

Little yellow rose painting in old frame. The frame has seen better days, but the painting is nice! Painting is around 5 x7; frame a little larger. $3

Flea Market Friday

I'm trying something new, starting today. It is Flea Market Friday, and the participants will offer items for sale on their blogs, directly to you, our readers! What I plan to do is offer some things here first, before they are available in my shoppe, to give you all "first crack" at them.Today, I have several vintage items for you at just four dollars each (plus postage). The first is this pretty little vintage bowl (above). It measures 5-1/2" wide at the top, and does have lots of crazing to add to its charm.Next is this vintage Florentia plaque. I have several of these displayed throughout our home, particularly in our living room. SOLD ~ Thanks, Lucy! :)

Next are these adorable vintage wrapping papers! They are in their ORIGINAL cellophane paper, *new old stock*, from the good old five & dime from our quaint little town. Each package contains two 20 x 29" sheets. Papers A&B SOLD ~ Thanks, Karla! :)

The first three are the sweetest baby papers, in soft tones of pink and blue. These also would be delightful for scrapbooking! I have lettered the photos so you can tell me which ones you'd like.

Next we have some with pretty pink roses, "For Your Shower".......

And this gorgeous birthday paper!

Simply comment or email me at bluebirdroses@aol.com if you'd like to make a purchase. Also, any orders from either my website or etsy today can be combined with your Flea Market Friday items to save you money on shipping!

:)

Thanks for visiting!
