Wedding Centerpieces

The bride asked if I could do some type of centerpieces
for the round white tables that would be at the wedding/reception.
Since the wedding was in December, but she didn't want red/traditional Christmas colors, I decided to go with a Winter White Wedding theme, also utilizing the silver color the couple wanted in their wedding.
I turned miniature plain white trees into ones glistening with snow, by adding glitter spray and mica flakes.
I sewed "pouffy" circles out of sparkling fabric for the center of each table.  I placed engagement pictures of the happy couple in snowflake ornaments, and added some "diamonds" left over from a friend's daughter's wedding.
I bought inexpensive glassware at Goodwill, and turned them into "mercury glass" candleholders, using instructions found via good ol' Pinterest.
Little favor boxes with Hershey kisses, wrapped in silver shimmer ribbon, completed the table decor.
I enjoyed being able to take such a part in my son's wedding, by doing this for him and his lovely bride.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Vintage Wedding Suitcase

Here is the vintage suitcase being used as a card holder for the happy couple.
I made a "luggage tag" with their wedding date, and a destination of "Happily Ever After", glittered a key and tied it with a ribbon to the luggage handle.

Card Banner

One of the first things the bride decided, is that she wanted to use a vintage suitcase as the "card box" for the wedding reception.  I drew inspiration from Pinterest, making a banner for the top, so guests would know where to place their cards of congratulations.
I used pretty scrapbook fabrics I found at JoAnn's, cut in rectangles, printed out the letters on my computer, covered each letter in floral vellum paper, and then strung the letters with shimmery ribbon.

This is how it turned out.....

I will show the entire suitcase in my next post!
Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Forget Me Not

Thank you for coming to my rescue and helping me figure out how to "skirt around" Blogger and trick it into letting me post a picture!  :)
And thank you for not giving up on me as a blogger, even though I've been sporadic at best.

Sunday, January 06, 2013

I had every good intention of posting more often this year, but Blogger has had a glitch the past couple of days and I cannot add photos.  From visiting around, I see that I'm not the only one having this issue.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by, and I hope to add new pics soon!
Have a great day!  :)

Reflections

As you reflect on the holiday season that has just passed, I hope it was one filled with love, joy and happy memories for you.
I know mine was, as our now-larger family gathered this year to celebrate Christmas together.  A beautiful new daughter-in-love, along with her two precious children, have joined our family.  More love, more laughter in our home.  What could be better?

This picture is a mirror in my living room that shows the reflection of some of my Christmas decor this year.

Happy to have you stop by!

Pardon my absence, but my oldest is getting married Saturday!!  It has been a whirlwind of wedding  plans and preparations, since they decided to get married in about six weeks time.

The pic is a hint of the table decor I've put together for this Winter Wedding.....

I am also doing the flowers, so there will be lots of pics to share.

Touches of black and cream for autumn

Our booth all ready!

I made some "witchy" boots.  I'm not really a Halloween girl, but a few touches looked right for the season!

My friend's daughter in our booth....
I did my first show last month.  It was so fun, so exciting... and lots of work!  My friend Judy and her daughter Amanda (in pic) went in with me, so we were called "Three Vintage Chicks".
Now I'm hooked, and I'm doing a show this weekend too.
I'll share some close ups in the next post.

Lace Jewelry Holder

I made this framed lace jewelry holder to hold my post earrings.  I was inspired by an idea I saw on Pinterest.

Makeover

I needed a display for my jewelry, so I bought a shelf at Goodwill, an old dollar print at a sale, and painted them both ...
I used an old grater for my dangly earrings.  And of course, every princess needs a tiara!

Springfield Flea Market & Antiques Extravaganza Pics

I wanted this pink door, but I don't think it was for sale.  I wanted the old rose box too but had to pass, as my funds were limited.  But isn't it a beauty?
The legs and shoes are already mine  ;)
