Quilt Rack Makeover

Here is the quilt rack with its new coat of paint (well a couple of coats ;)

Here it is before (above).  Not bad, but the stained wood look isn't really what I have in my home.
These vintage cottage plates go better with the new color, along with a vintage quilt that has a blue background.

I finished it off with an old piece of lace and a vintage fabric flower.
Hope you are having a great week!

Vintage Tole Tray

A stop at my favorite antique shoppe Thursday, rendered this gorgeous vintage hand-painted tole tray.

The colors work perfectly in my living room.
Hope your weekend is a wonderful one!

Vintage Chippy Wooden Box

I bought this chippy old wooden planter box years ago, and I love the worn paint, but the ends had been left plain.  So today I decided to add vintage wallpaper to the ends, and I love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday at the Cottage

It's a grey day outside today, but it's sunshine and roses (well candles and roses) in the cottage!
Have a beautiful Saturday!  :)

Wedding Centerpieces

The bride asked if I could do some type of centerpieces
for the round white tables that would be at the wedding/reception.
Since the wedding was in December, but she didn't want red/traditional Christmas colors, I decided to go with a Winter White Wedding theme, also utilizing the silver color the couple wanted in their wedding.
I turned miniature plain white trees into ones glistening with snow, by adding glitter spray and mica flakes.
I sewed "pouffy" circles out of sparkling fabric for the center of each table.  I placed engagement pictures of the happy couple in snowflake ornaments, and added some "diamonds" left over from a friend's daughter's wedding.
I bought inexpensive glassware at Goodwill, and turned them into "mercury glass" candleholders, using instructions found via good ol' Pinterest.
Little favor boxes with Hershey kisses, wrapped in silver shimmer ribbon, completed the table decor.
I enjoyed being able to take such a part in my son's wedding, by doing this for him and his lovely bride.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Vintage Wedding Suitcase

Here is the vintage suitcase being used as a card holder for the happy couple.
I made a "luggage tag" with their wedding date, and a destination of "Happily Ever After", glittered a key and tied it with a ribbon to the luggage handle.
