Dining Room Christmas Decor

Thursday, December 28, 2006

Merry Christmas!!

I have been having internet problems since my post a week ago, and I missed being able to share more Christmas decor with you. I also missed wishing you all a Merry Christmas. I appreciate each and every one of my "blogging friends", and all your lovely and kind comments.

Here is a picture of me from my very first Christmas. I cannot help but notice the wall color and curtains are things I would love to have today!

I hope you have enjoyed this Christmas season, and I wish you blessings in the New Year!

I have finished decorating our living room for Christmas;
so here is a series of pictures of the completed decor!

A gift lovingly wrapped for a friend.
(the little tag I made & embellished with glitter, but it's not showing up very well here)

My Teacup Tree
I hung little teacups, teapots, vintage hankies, tiny spoons,
and little pink crystals on this tree.
Here's a closeup:

The base of the teacup tree holds pastel nutcrackers, pink candy, and Clara with a miniature rose teaset.
Pink Santa, reindeer w/pink roses, vintage Christmas postcard...... all adding Christmas touches to my china hutch in the dining room.
(I just received the pink Santa yesterday as part of a Secret Santa exchange from one of my groups. I think he feels right at home with all the pink!)

A corner of our dining room, where I have just hung my pretty new peony print (see post below). You can see a little glimpse of my teacup tree here, which I will show more of in a later post.

I received this GORGEOUS framed peony print from Michele at Sweet Yesterdays. I just love it!

Visit her website at www.sweetyesterdays.com where you will find lots of beautiful items for your home!

Thank you, Michele!!

A stocking I made from an old blue & white quilt.

Thursday, December 07, 2006

I really liked the colors of this little Christmas print, so I matted it in Victorian material and painted a frame white, to display it in the master bath for the holidays.

This little tree is in the living room in front of the window. It has a garland of roses and lace; I kept it quite simple.

Even the birdcage gets some special Christmas touches -- a miniature pink wreath on the cage door -- a tiny Christmas tree nested in a small teapot........ and an angel keeping watch.

Saturday, December 02, 2006

I found this sweet little angel at a thrift store, and she is now residing under our living room Christmas tree with the other angels.

She is "Midwest of Cannon Falls" and is holding a little Christmas wreath.

Now displayed in our dining room, I found this on a shopping excursion with a friend yesterday. I have been eyeing these on eBay for over a year now, but they always go too high. I spotted this reproduction, which was much less expensive, so I *had to* have it! :)

After the recent red and green pictures, I thought you might like to see a picture of this year's decor in our living room, in softer pinks and creams with a Victorian flair. (I *merged* two pictures together to get the panoramic view).....

I also collect vintage Santas, and I especially like the ones that include Mrs. Claus!

Saturday, November 25, 2006

A closeup of my snowman tree from last year. I collect snowmen, particularly vintage. This was in the dining room, which is decorated in pinks & creams this year, so the snowmen will displayed elsewhere.

Some closeups of our Living Room Tree this year....

Victorian Snow Couple

This happy pair resides in the living room this Christmas.

Our Bedroom at Christmas
I've been feeling a little under-the-weather, so haven't added any more decor the past couple of days. So, I thought you might enjoy seeing this picture of our bedroom from a couple Christmases ago!

Tuesday, November 14, 2006

I am in the process of decorating the living room, this is the base of our 9-foot tree. I'm still "tweaking", but I'll keep sharing pictures anyway! :)

Angel Tree

Last year, I decided I *needed* yet another tree -- this little angel tree with decorations of gold and green. It will go in the living room this year, as the theme there will be Victorian.

Church at Christmas

This is the very first piece that I painted for my Christmas village. Kind of what started it all, and how appropriate that it is a church. :)

Mrs. Claus Sweet Shoppe

One of the pieces I painted for my Christmas village. I especially like this one because it's pink! And the two ladies walking through the snow were a gift from my mom -- perhaps it represents the two of us; we love to shop together!

Monday, November 06, 2006

Soon it will be time for scenes like these. Don't you just love this time of year?
This is part of my Christmas village from last year. I'll be putting it up again very soon!

This pilgrim couple is currently residing on top of our entertainment center in the family room. Their stay will be somewhat brief, however, as I have already begun transforming our home into a Christmas wonderland! Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I hope to post at least one Christmas picture of our home each day.

My transferware plates. They are reproductions, but I was thrilled to find them just the same! I have enjoyed setting the dining room table with these plates for autumn, and especially so now that it's November!!

Thursday, November 02, 2006

I've had this vintage print for awhile, but was never quite sure where to display it. Yesterday, I decided it might look nice nestled into my china hutch top display.
I think it is quite at home there!
