~~Prizes and Gifts~~ Sweet Pink Vintage Toaster Cover
My friend Cora, whom I met through one of my yahoo decorating groups, sent me this lovely pale pink embroidered toaster cover!! Look at the sweet little flowers and french knots!! Thank you so much, Cora, it's so dainty and delicately pretty, and it was so generous of you to send it to me!
And look what arrived in the mail today!! My prize I won from Miss Sandy of Quill Cottage!!It is sooooooo cute!! Sandy made several different Valentine's and offered them as prizes on her blog. I was one of the happy recipients!!
She even added some pink candies..... Thank you, Sandy, for the sweet gift!! :)

In other news, I'll be sharing photos of our master bathroom soon (here's a little sneak peek). It is pink and lavender, very vintage~romantic~frou frou, and my hubby is a dear for putting up with it in the bathroom we share.

Yummy ~ Yummy!!

A special welcome to the visitors coming over from Lesley's blog, and a thank-you to her for featuring my blog today in her "Yummy Yummy Blog Discovery"!! What a delightfully kind post she wrote!!
Today I'm sharing some thrift finds, some recent, some I've treasured for awhile, such as this little trinket box I bought at auction. It says "Within you see ~ what pleases me", and then when you open it up, there is a mirror at the bottom, so the person looking in it will see that THEY are who brings you a smile!!
Above is my most recent thrift find. It is a collodion on milk glass; I believe it to be from the mid to late 1800's. The little girl's photo is printed directly on the glass, and it has been tinted. Isn't she precious?

Behind the photo, the identity of the little girl is written on a scrap of paper.

This vintage compact often sits upon my nightstand. It is some sort of bakelite/hard plastic; with soft little flowers painted on it.

This vintage stuffed bunny just begged to be brought home with me; how could I refuse?

Speaking of bunnies, I've just updated my etsy shoppe with some sweet Easter tags.
Thank you all for stopping by!!

A few more hearts in our home.....
This little plate is from Denmark ~ I don't think it's vintage, but I think it's really cute with cupid in the middle, ready to shoot his arrows of love!

Brad has a show tonight, so I'll be rockin' out!!
Happy Friday to you!

Valentine Doll

Hello from "Valley". She is my vintage Valentine doll.

Look at all those hearts on her dress.

(She wants me to apologize for the wrinkles in her dress ~ she is quite embarrassed about them ~ but she does have an excuse. This is where she normally "hangs out" (photo below ~ she's in a top left pocket)
This is a "shoe bag" on my studio closet door, and it holds pretty little bits and things. The little baby dress on the hanger is one of my own that my mother saved for me ~ I bet you are not one bit surprised that it's PINK!! :)

Happy Valentine's Week!

It's February!! Little touches of Valentine's are sneaking their way into my kitchen.....

And, of course, in Ohio February means snow........
Here's Brad posing (aka sliding) on the hood of his car.....

Really, it seemed like a good idea at the time, didn't it, Brad?

P.S. I'm glad you all enjoyed my flea market finds from the last post! In answer to your questions, yes, my hubby did find some things ~~ sci fi-type DVDs ~~ so he was a happy camper too!!
There was a lot of interest in the cutout mug ~ I believe that it's a shaving mug. The little part at the top has several holes in it (where the shaving soap would go ~ the water would go in the bottom part). I think it will look cute in the bathroom where I have a couple of other old shaving mugs!
