Oh So Pretty!!
My sister-in-law stopped by with this GORGEOUS bowl she had found at auction, and knew I would love! Do ya think she was right? :)

Earlier today, I had made a quick jaunt into Goodwill and found these three hand-painted saucers.

I want to hang these little sweeties together somewhere ~ three pretty plates, all in a row!

Gotta love pretty roses and happy surprises!

Christmas in July
I know, some would say it's too early to think about Christmas, but it's never too early for me!! :)
I've been making some Christmas tags for my etsy shoppe.

I am looking forward to making lots more Christmas goodies in my new studio......
Saturday, we put up some shelving in the closet. This will go a long way toward helping me organize my shipping supplies and inventory.
(I'm not the only one thinking about the upcoming holidays ~ lots of fellow CSST'ers have their pretties listed on etsy. Just type in CSST July in the search engine, and have fun!! Merry Christmas in July!!

Saturday's Finds!
Chris and I planned on going to an auction Saturday. He's been working alot, and we thought we needed a day of "play". We perused the ads and found an auction that appeared to have goodies for both of us (aka old tools and "guy things" for him and pretties for me). Alas, the auction was not what it was advertised to be, and we left. We already had our cooler packed with drinks and sandwiches for the day, so what to do? Drive to Indiana to an antique mall, that's what!!
Here are some closeups of the goodies we (I) found. :)
Vintage Pink Rose Platter
Old Fabric-Covered Box

Old Sugar Shaker ~ Minus the Cork ~ Will display in our kitchen

Rusty Old Lunchbox from the Sixties ~ I don't know that I've ever seen a prettier lunchbox, despite the rust. I'll use it for storage, but will have to paint the inside first -- it's as rusty as the outside!! :)

Vintage Framed Rose Print

I also purchased a bag of old calling cards, which I'll feature in an upcoming post.

Thanks for visiting!!

How fun is this?!! You can create your own magazine cover using FlickrToys! I first found out about this from Cindy, who shared about it on her blog. Well, I had to try it, and this is what I created! What fun!! If you make your own cover, please let me know; I would love to see it!

*Pretty Pictures*

I picked these up last week too; they were both on sale, and things I'd had my eye on for awhile but had thusfar resisted. When they are on sale, that's a different story!!Below is a pretty box I found on our Colorado trip.
I like the colors in the graphics ~ the roses, and the sweet bluebirds.
I especially enjoyed all your comments on the 45's I shared last post. So many of you are sentimental and nostalgic like me. I think I will share more things like that in the future -- I am blessed to have several of my childhood toys/treasures that my mom saved for me. :)

*45's*

I found this cute old children's "45" at the shabby antique shoppe, and bought it because of the adorable graphics. When I got it home, I discovered the record had a huge chip in it anyway....
.... but it got me to thinking about the children's 45's I have from my youth. Remember these?

I'm sure some of them are older than I am, as we would often get toys handed down to us from older cousins or family friends. These records include childhood favorites such as "Three Little Kittens", "I'm a Little Teapot", and "Hot Cross Buns".
Remember when the records were colors, like these yellow ones? I remember listening to this one ~ I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus ~ and wondering what on earth was Santa doing kissing someone's Mommy?!!!!! How utterly scandalous!!

(Of course, I also used to think that tiny people lived inside my record player/radio, and they were the ones singing/talking. I was very very very young. ;)
Quit laughing.

Quite possibly the find of the decade......Wait 'til you see what I found Saturday!! Well, I found several things, but one of them is quite possibly the find of the decade!

First of all, I found this pretty vintage stand, already the perfect shade of pink, and perfect amount of *chippiness* for my studio.

But then I spotted this old quilt...... I'm not sure why I gave it a second look; it's not my colors or my style, but something caught my eye ......
What's this? Little edges of heavenly blue and roses peeking out from the other side? Could it be?
Is it backed with some pieces of this beautiful fabric?
NO ~ the ENTIRE back of this quilt is this GORGEOUS GORGEOUS unbelievable beautiful old fabric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The owner of the shabby antique shoppe couldn't believe it either ~ she said she had NO IDEA that this beautiful fabric was hidden under that mundane quilt top! She went on to say, that had she realized, she would have bought it herself!! :)

Thanks for visiting my Bluebirds & Roses Cottage!!

May all your finds be lovely ones.......
