Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday..... here is a photo of her and my dad on their wedding day. I love the way he is looking at her with such love and pride! (look at that gorgeous dress too!)

And here she is with Brad and me on Sunday, as we gathered to celebrate her 76th birthday . Three generations..... (Andrew had already left when we took this photo). Doesn't she look amazing? No one ever believes her age. She is an incredible lady, so kind, loving and generous.
She joins the boys and me every Tuesday night for Wing Nite at a local restaurant! Tonight will be no exception!
Hope you have a great day too!!

Lilac Bouqets and Birthday Wishes....

Our lilacs are in bloom... one of my favorite things to do is to cut bouqets and bring them indoors....
..... to enjoy their heavenly fragrance throughout our home. When I was growing up, we had a large lilac bush by the end of our driveway.... .... and my dad would cut bouqets and bring them in to my mom.... such a romantic gesture..... 24 years ago today, my world changed forever, when Andrew Robert was born into our family. My first baby, my heart, my life.
A tiny blonde-haired blue-eyed bundle of sunshine. Ah, the simple pleasures. I still like blowing bubbles, do you?

Happy Birthday, Andrew! Always keep a part of that childlike wonder with you!

To all of you, have a great weekend. Make time to blow some bubbles..... :)

Ta-Da!

Full-length shot for ya!

Wow, I cannot get anything by you all..... several of you reminded me that you wanted to see the ENTIRE dress, complete with accessories.
Being a typical woman, I'm not overly fond of full-length shots of myself, but for YOU, I will!

Thank you for all the kind comments on the previous post. I just love weddings, and it was great to get to visit with hubby's family. They are four hours away so we don't get to visit as often as we'd like.

Hope you are having a great week, and as always, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!

All dressed up.... and SOMEPLACE to go!!
On our way to the wedding! Saturday was the wedding of my little brother(in-law).... I finally got to wear the dress and accessories I've been sharing with you! I even decorated some combs with flowers to wear in my hair!
Our youngest, Brad, was able to make the trip with us, here we are mugging for the camera while we are waiting for things to get started... The wedding was outdoors and it was a chilly day. Thankfully the chairs were close together which helped for warmth..... I was thankful to be seated next to Brad, and.....
.....of course my handsome hubby Chris.... it's actually his little brother that got married......
The bride was absolutely beautiful. I refrained from taking pics during the ceremony out of courtesy to the professional photographer, but hopefully will have some of those to share shortly.
Hope you had a beautiful weekend too! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Vintage Sewing Basket LoveI just purchased my third vintage sewing basket, and you know what they say about three making a collection.
This pink one is my newest addition....
I love how they are pretty AND useful for storing all kinds of bits and bobs in my studio....

So I guess I collect vintage sewing baskets now!

Ta-Daaaaa! Here it is, the ankle bracelet I made. Good thing I have such a huge stash of vintage lace to make all my pretties! I've really been into wearing ankle braclets lately, but this is the first one I've had that's so romantic!

.... the inside ties with a pretty pink ribbon, so will look nice when I cross my legs too! LOL!!

Wedding attire..... jewelry shoes, and a vintage hanky.......
Thanks for all the interest, and for the photo requests. I will definitely take some pics of me with all of this on and share them with you!! :)

Vintage Lace Cuff BraceletHere is the bracelet I made to wear with my new dress. I wanted to make it out of vintage lace and old millinery flowers.
I have had this old crocheted lace for awhile. I love how it still has the tattered edges of whatever garment it was sewn onto, once upon a time.
I am so pleased with how it turned out.
Of course, I couldn't stop there. I needed an ankle bracelet too..... I'll share that in my next post! :)
Have a great weekend!!

Going to a Wedding....

Ooooo, I just love weddings! We have a family wedding in a couple of weeks..... it was the perfect excuse to buy a new dress...... For being such a frilly romantic girl, you'd think I would have a closetful of dresses, but I don't. I needed something new, I tell ya!
I wanted something with a romantic vintage look ~ imagine ~ and I think I found the perfect dress.... kind of a dusty rose, handerchief hem....
It has a cute little jacket to wear with it....
Just love all the embroidery on this.....
Of course, the next dilemma was what shoes to wear? I'm not really a "shoe girl" like many, so an afternoon of shoe shopping was in order..... who knew there were so many choices?
After browsing aisle after aisle, I saw them (cue spotlight, start dramatic music).....
They look as though they were MADE for my dress..... and they are comfy.... AND they are covered in roses!
Ah, now on to accessories.... I decided to make a bracelet.... then an anklet..... and now a necklace...... all out of vintage lace. Want to see? Next time!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a great week! :)
