~Decorating~Decided to put a *new* (yard sale) shelf above the living room door. Chris did the work part, and I did the fun part ~ decorating it!! I was running around the house, looking for things that would work.....

A little stone birdie for which I made a *nest* out of moss....

A tiny Victorian framed print, just the right size... I keep looking at it ~ do you do that when you add a new vignette, or rearrange things? It's like enjoying a just-arrived decorating magazine, except in person. Decorating is too fun!!

~Weekend Treasures~

My favorite little treasure shoppe was having a sale, so I purchased a couple of things I've had my eye on, like this floral pedestal cup (above)..... and this little Southern Belle embroidered towel, below.I also spotted these sweet vintage pillowcases (two pink; two blue) that I hadn't seen before, so I bought them as well (I mean, they were on sale, after all! ;)

Oh, and here's a find from the 127 Sale that somehow was left out of my previous postings. I have been wanting one of these, and was so excited to find this one for a good price (four dollars!! :)

Brad also played a gig on Saturday night, so a lovely weekend, even if I've been sick. Poor hubby has caught it now!!

Hope your weekend was lovely too!!

In a Country Garden......

My gardens bring me happiness.....
I wanted to share some seeds from my garden with friends, so a couple of weeks ago, I made up these little seed packets in which to put them, using a photo of my secret garden:

Thought I was being so creative, then saw a similar idea in the latest Country Gardens magazine today...

I really did think of it before I saw the magazine!

(I actually must give credit to fellow blogger Linda, who had shared some seeds with me in the past, in specially-made packets. I'm sure that stuck in my mind and provided inspiration for "my" seed packets! Thank you, Linda :)

~More from the 127 Sale~

Another pretty plate ~ the writing is faded, but it says "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread" ~ my third such plate, so now I guess I have a(nother) collection started!!

Christmas lights in "pink, mint and white" ~ pastel frosts, as it says on the box. I bought three boxes for a total of five dollars, and will have no trouble finding a place to use these this Christmas!!

A few old Christmas goodies -- two Gurley candles (need cleaned badly! :) and two chenille-stemmed pink ornament bundles.
Vintage plastic Santa ornament "candy container".

Last but certainly not least, a Disco Album!! Including that amazing hit "Disco Duck"! And "The Hustle" -- complete with instructions on the back on how to dance The Hustle. Chris refused to try it with me, so I thought for sure Brad would go for it. Nope, says he, he's "not a hustler". Well, I'm gonna try it anyway. Anyone wanna join me? Do the Hustle........

World's Longest Yard Sale

We weren't able to make a trip of it this year, as we did last year, but Route 127 in Ohio is less than an hour from us, so we made the drive over this morning and spent a few hours treasure hunting. Here are my finds from today. Above, a vintage angel picture and tin..... Great vintage buttons.....
More old roses, of course!! In the form of a pretty plate, crochet~trimmed hanky, and stationery box.
I also spotted this vintage candy box below, for $1. I decided to open it before I bought it, to make sure the inside wasn't in too bad of shape.....
OH!! Look at what was inside!! (below)I couldn't believe it!! Vintage figural Christmas lights. I'm pretty sure they are actual old lights and not repros, but I'm still researching. What a find!!

Cute old Christmas card holder, still in pacakage, a vintage Christmas sugar bell decoration, and a pink and blue snowman!!
HUGE Empire light-up Santa face!! This guy will go over our garage this Christmas.

Oh so sweet pink-and-green snow couple (with snowbaby). Not vintage, but precious!!
And guess what, we're going back to hit more sales tomorrow morning!! If I find more treasures, I'll be sure to share photos!!

Lallee's Cottage
Here is a sweet potholder that I purchased from my friend Lallee. It is in the perfect colors for my cottage kitchen; I'm showing it displayed in my little pink cabinet.
Lallee and I have been friends for six years now; though we have never met in person (still hoping to someday soon, aren't we, Lallee?! :)
She also made this adorable basket for me recently, as a gift for my new studio. Isn't it the cutest?!! And in my favorite color of pink!!
Lallee is very talented and has her own etsy shoppe Lallee's Cottage; where she offers lots of pretty things for your home! She takes custom orders as well.
She also has a blog and always shares lots of lovely pictures of her home, her pets, and her beautiful gardens. I'm sure she'd love it if you'd visit her there, and please tell her Becca sent you!!

My mom and I spent the afternoon together ~ eating at our favorite cafe, shopping our favorite antique shoppes...... this is what I bought. I have been keeping my eye out for these. They are reproductions ~~ from 1976 and 1977, so not actually vintage, but pretty just the same. I have a small collection of vintage talcs in my bathroom that I will share in a future post.
~Thanks for visiting~
