Yummy ~ Yummy!!

A special welcome to the visitors coming over from Lesley's blog, and a thank-you to her for featuring my blog today in her "Yummy Yummy Blog Discovery"!! What a delightfully kind post she wrote!!
Today I'm sharing some thrift finds, some recent, some I've treasured for awhile, such as this little trinket box I bought at auction. It says "Within you see ~ what pleases me", and then when you open it up, there is a mirror at the bottom, so the person looking in it will see that THEY are who brings you a smile!!
Above is my most recent thrift find. It is a collodion on milk glass; I believe it to be from the mid to late 1800's. The little girl's photo is printed directly on the glass, and it has been tinted. Isn't she precious?

Behind the photo, the identity of the little girl is written on a scrap of paper.

This vintage compact often sits upon my nightstand. It is some sort of bakelite/hard plastic; with soft little flowers painted on it.

This vintage stuffed bunny just begged to be brought home with me; how could I refuse?

Speaking of bunnies, I've just updated my etsy shoppe with some sweet Easter tags.
Thank you all for stopping by!!

Squeee! What pretties! That trinket box is too sweet.
What a darling picture of the little girl. It always saddens me to see these forgotten picures tho, to think that their family didn't want to keep them.
BEAUTIFUL old compact!
Hmm... I see an Easter vignette coming on with that cute vintage bun-bun!

Very sweet finds! I love the little ceramic box --- and the sweet photo of the little girl. How special that you know her identity. That increases the emotional appeal by 100%! The twin to your pretty little compact sits on a display counter at Elm Street Antiques. I will have to look again --- but in my memory they are identical.

Congrats for being a featured blog. Very well deserved!

Wanted to tell you congrats for being "discovered". I remember how happy I was when I first discovered your blog. Now many others will feel that same happiness.

Love the collodion...I cannot fathom why families get rid of such stuff.

You deserved the write up! Your blog is wonderful to come to.

That picture is even more special since you know who the picture is of! It's sad to go to auctions and see the old pictures (that don't hold any sentimental value because the family does not know who is in them) that are sold to strangers.

Take care.

Hi Becca, Your vintage items are wonderful. They are great finds. I'm off to visit your etsy shoppe in a minute.

Thank you for your visit to my town. It is a blessing to live here. We love the small town atmosphere so much. Unless you need to go for some serious shopping. That would be 85 miles away.

Have a great day.

Hugs...Jeanne
