The tree is decorated!
The 9 ft tree in the living room, that is. I wanted it to have a vintage feel this year, so I used nearly 1000 vintage glass ornaments, strands of old mercury glass beads, colored lights, and old-fashioned icicles! I want to add my vintage Santa collection 'neath the bottom too.... we'll see :)Thanks so much for all your well-wishes, thoughts and prayers for my stepdad. Each and every one are much appreciated!

It's beginning to look a "little" like Christmas.....
Decorating for Christmas is in full swing here at the Spencer household!! How about in your world?
Thank you so much for your kind emails, letting me know I was missed. I am sorry to have been away so long.... I normally don't like to post unhappy things on my blog, so I tend to just disappear for awhile when something is going on. My stepdad had a stroke and was in the hospital over Thanksgiving, so we've been rather preoccupied. I like to keep my blog a happy cheerful place to visit, but wanted you to know what was going on, since you were so kind in inquiring about me! He is home now, and under the loving care of my sweet momma!
Thanks for stopping by; more Christmas coming soon!! :)

We went for a drive yesterday so I could photograph some of the fall foliage ~ had to stop on a two-seat swing and take a picture of me with my fella! I think you can see how much I love this guy!
Starting in our very own back yard ~ this is our woods ~ we have some wood piled up, waiting to be split and enjoyed on these cool nights....

..... just down the road.....
This is a road-side farm stand on our road. The little boy in the background had selected his pumpkin and was proudly standing beside it. This little stand uses the "honor system"; there is a lockbox to put your money in for what you select. I love that about country living.
One of my favorite scenes is trees reflected in the water
(taken at a local park)
There were a pair of ducks, but they weren't swimming very closely together, so I just caught this picture of the more-colorful male.
When we stopped so I could photograph these beautiful trees, we were pleasantly surprised to see that there were several deer enjoying them as well.
This post is kind of a departure from my normal pastel-inspirations, but I had to share some scenes from my favorite season.
I have been updating my shoppe with lots of *new* vintage pretties, so be sure to check it out! Photos to be shared here soon.
