Some things make me feel more peaceful, just by looking at them. He is one of them.
Thank you for your kind comments on our living room (previous post). I always so enjoy your visits to our cottage!
Have a lovely week!! :)
This area was actually open to the rest of the house, so she had creatively placed lace pieces and panels to "wall it off" for privacy's sake. Knowing that, for her, this lovely idea was borne of necessity, made it especially charming.
There was a man present who specialized in furnishings and decor, and when I explained my theory that chipped/distressed pieces could also be beautiful, he looked at me in disbelief.
I went on to explain that those chips might represent memories.... perhaps the time where "father" had nicked the wood with his work boot.... or "junior" scuffed it, happily playing with his toy..... and how those "flaws" were really precious reminders of life itself. He had a look of awe on his face, as if I had made some huge revelation! LOL!
How could he possibly have known that Vintage Cottage Chic would be a decorating style? Which I happen to adore??!!
Happy Decorating Dreams to You!!
