My mom and I had a girls afternoon out Thursday. This is our therapy! :) We are surrounded by boys, I am her only daughter, and she has five grandsons, including my two boys! We love them all dearly, but sometimes, girls just "gotta" be girls! We went to our favorite cafe and had spinach quiche, fresh baked bread, fruit, and mint iced tea. Then onto my favorite shoppe for a little retail therapy. I had looked at these two pretty plates on prior visits to the shoppe, so it was time to bring them home with me. They, along with the two vintage postcards, are in the pretty vintage colors I love (and with ROSES!) Bonus ~ when I went to pay for them, my sweet momma surprised me and bought them for me! :)

Who's the Lucky Girl? That would be me! Here is another prize I won from a fellow blogger recently!

Sweet little matchboxes that she has embellished ever~so~beautifully!

I *heart* them.....
I *adore* them.....

These are cute little tags she included!

These two have kind of a vintage beachy feel going on!
So cute! So a BIG "THANKS" to *M*!
Your kindness and generosity have blessed me. :)
I will treasure these treasures!!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!
My lucky streak continues, as I won this candle in a blog giveaway. It is mulled cider, and also came with these sweet little charm bands! Oh, and the blue mardi-gras beads! I had the purple ones already from winning a trivia game on my cruise!
Thank you, Rayna !!

It smells wonderfully, and I appreciate your kindness and generosity! (hubby says a special thank-you for the beads ;)

Have you seen this new magazine, Flea Market Gardens? It's the Premier Issue!

I'm only showing the cover here, I don't want to infringe upon any copyrights of photos, but trust me when I say it is full of beautifully-photographed gardens!
I love using found treasures in my garden, do you?

Here is an old gate I bought at auction, home to a PINK birdie and her nest in the enchanted garden!

This chair is also from an auction; the old pail belonged to my Uncle Bill.

Old china plates and cups are at home in the garden as well. This rusty fence post was already in place when we put up the picket fence, so seemed a perfect hanger for some impatiens.

A vintage birdcage houses more impatiens, and a birdie too of course!
An old cider press, found at a yard sale, is spilling with vining flowers.

Of course, these photos of my gardens are from previous years, the snow has just now melted here (and probably more to come), but it's fun to plan and dream, especially with a beautiful magazine like this one to inspire!

P.S. I love Love LOVE this idea on the magazine cover, of planting flowers in the drawers of an old dresser! I can't wait to try this in my own garden!!

Happy Valentine's Day
I'm a little late posting... first my internet went out, and then my main computer crashed! Making do with my hubby's laptop, but I don't have many pictures on it (yet ;) Here is one I created using a photograph of mine ~~ the saying is attributed to Judy Garland.
Hope you had a lovely day!

Button Heart

I've shared this before, but this is the button heart I won, a few years ago, from Cindy of My Romantic Home.

I wonder how long it took to attach all those buttons?

Love the different types and sizes of them!

I enjoy displaying this pretty heart in our living room!
