My Favorite Spot
This is my favorite spot to relax in our home....
An oversized chair by a window, through which you can see roses, trees, birds.....
It's a quiet place to browse through my favorite decorating books, or to look out the window and dream, and just be.
Do you have a favorite place to be in your home?

Bluebirds and Roses Cheese Dish

I've wanted a pretty cheese dish/keeper for awhile now, but I never imagined finding one with bluebirds and roses on it!I cannot take credit for finding this beauty though; a friend found it for me! I guess that's a wonderful benefit of letting your "likes" be so well known ~ going as far as to even name your blog after them ~ ;)
It's a perfect addition to my cottage kitchen!!

The day before my birthday (last month), my mom and I did our traditional birthday outing... lunch at our favorite cafe, and a little shopping in a nearby antique town. In one of the shops, I spotted a pretty rose print in a gorgeous frame. I admired it as it hung on the wall, but time and money were short that day, so there it stayed. The very next day, my sister-in-law stopped by, bearing a birthday gift. You guessed it. It was the beautifully-framed roses..... What is unbelievable though, is my mom had not told her about my admiring it. Coincidentally, my sis-in-law went to the shoppe later, saw it, and knew I would love it! She was right, I do!!
She also brought me this "bath bomb" which I used promptly. It smelled like strawberry bubblegum -- yum! And made lots of bubbles! :)Don't you just love sweet surprises?
P.S. Thank you SO much for your kind comments on my rose article, and for taking the time to read it. It is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you for stopping by, and I would really appreciate it if you check out the article too; it will go a long way towards my being chosen to write more! :)

Yard Work
Planting some pink impatiens in the Enchanted Garden today..... have my pink bottle of mint iced tea on hand as well.
My work area, as I'm trying to re-tame the garden.... it was overgrown due to all the rain we've been having.
I was all set to go out to work, when Izzy thought she had a better idea. If only I could, Izzy..... maybe tonight!

Vintage Linens
Went to some city yard sales Saturday with Mom and my oldest Andrew.... I found some vintage linens!
The lady who was selling them commented that this pillowcase (above) will look so pretty when starched. Um.... hello? Starched? Yes I will wash it, but its soft shabby feel is what I love about it!
