For the Love of Books

I recently participated in a contest where we were to take pictures of books in a pretty setting. I didn't win the contest, but still enjoyed the project, and thought you might like to see some of the pictures I took.

I used a couple of my Victorian books .........
I still love the Victorian look in our living room, but combine it with some white/cream woods for a lighter feel (mixed in with a couple of medium-dark wood-toned pieces that I cannot bear to paint for sentimental reasons).
I refer to this look as Victorian Chic. (which coincidentally, is the name of a decorating book that is among my favorites ~ anyone else have that one? It's GORGEOUS!)

Wow Becca! If your gorgeous photo's didn't win the contest, I have to see the one that did!! Your's should have been a shoe in!

Yes, it's the Springfield Flea Market I went to, it sounds as if you've been there. Are you near Springfield? Do you go often? I'm going back to the "Extravaganza" in Sept. I'm sooo excited!
I found a ton of great items, some are ready to sell when I get my website up and running, but others need some TLC with plenty of pink and roses..lol!
I'll see you at the tea!

Becca, just love the pictures of the books and it would be fun to set up for the pictures. I am trying my sign out in many places and when it is just right I will post a picture.

Vintage books are one of my earliest collections. I love how they look, how they smell, how the paper feels. I could spend hours and hours in any bookstore. Your pictures look like something from Victoria Magazine! Blessings... Polly

I will have to check out that Victorian Chic book. Sounds just lovely. I have the same situation where I just can't paint some of my older tables and stands. I'm trying to lighten things up a bit as well. Love the books and pictures you've shared.
