Quite possibly the find of the decade......Wait 'til you see what I found Saturday!! Well, I found several things, but one of them is quite possibly the find of the decade!

First of all, I found this pretty vintage stand, already the perfect shade of pink, and perfect amount of *chippiness* for my studio.

But then I spotted this old quilt...... I'm not sure why I gave it a second look; it's not my colors or my style, but something caught my eye ......
What's this? Little edges of heavenly blue and roses peeking out from the other side? Could it be?
Is it backed with some pieces of this beautiful fabric?
NO ~ the ENTIRE back of this quilt is this GORGEOUS GORGEOUS unbelievable beautiful old fabric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The owner of the shabby antique shoppe couldn't believe it either ~ she said she had NO IDEA that this beautiful fabric was hidden under that mundane quilt top! She went on to say, that had she realized, she would have bought it herself!! :)

Thanks for visiting my Bluebirds & Roses Cottage!!

May all your finds be lovely ones.......

Hi Becca! Wow! I can't believe they used this backing on the back of that quilt! Lucky for you though because this fabric is gorgeous! Even if you didn't use it as a quilt just having this fabric to use for projects is a deal! Love it! Have a great day - Jeannette

Just goes to show that we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Pick up those items and check them out.

I wonder how many people passed up that quilt thinking it wasn't pretty before. You sure showed them!

Great find!

Hugs,
Joanne

Kitty Bartholomew showed us how to turn old menswear suits into quilts like that on The Home Show back in the early 90's! I wonder if your quilt dates to that era? I adore the back!

Becca,
Hi dear! I hanging in there but still miss my son! So glad to see you found some goodies. I am shocked that that dark plaid had such pretty colors on the opposite side! Maybe a his and hers quilt? Take care, Lori
