Junkin'
My favorite junk store is closing. Had to stop in one last time, and this is what I found. Old wooden hanger with chippy painted flowers.
HUGE old plastic hatbox with faded fabric...... I'll store millinery flowers in this.
Another wicker shelf for my studio -- I already have one in pink and one in yellow.

Sweet little pack of vintage Easter seals.
Originally five cents!
(Thankfully, I still have my favorite shabby vintage shoppe and my favorite antiques store nearby. I just might have to visit them soon, to console myself of course. ;)

I would be totally bummed if a local store with this type of treasures was closing!!! Love the little Easter seals. My favorite little old lady thrift closed recently only to reopen a few blocks away...but it was better in the old location! DRATS.
What wonderful things you bought.
Loving the coat hanger

Aww, I'm sorry you're losing one of your treasure spots!
What great stuff you found on your last trip.
That hanger is shabberiffic!
WOW, you have all matching wicker shelves in different colors!? You rock!!
Love the hat box too.
Congrats on winning another giveaway! Great stuff. Love the blubird cards!
I have that same shelf, it had been painted BLACK for some unearthly reason....I put the first coat of looks like the same green color you are using today...
I now have to figure out where to put it....grin!!!

Hi Becca,
Looks like you found some great stuff to remember this little store by. I have a couple of favorite haunts as well and would hate it if they closed their doors. I feel your pain.
Smiles, June
Love the things in that shoppe.Especially the hatbox.I have several but they arent plastic.
That's too bad about the store closing. You found some nice things though. Cute little shelf for your shop!

Becca, these are awesome buys! That hat box is to die for! The flowers will look beautiful in it. How neat that you will have all three pretty colors for the wicker shelves. Just perfect!
Hugs,
Lallee
Just love the blue wicker shelf! I remember my Mother had a pink one in our bathroom!!
(Now I want to go find one!! tee...hee....)
Love,

Lovely finds Becca. I just adore that cute green shelf. I have a similar one in white that I recently found and I love it. Isn't it sad that all of our favorite shops seem to be closing? Three antique shops that I visited freqently near my home have closed in the past 6 months and I often wonder how many others may end up following the same path. Very sad for someone like me who's favorite pastime is browsing the antique shops.
Wonderful finds...I especially like the hanger, so girlie..I wish they still made them like that and neat hatbox. Sad when a favorite store closes...hugs, Linda
I am so sorry that your favorite store is closing. It is hard times for little stores. That is why I firmly believe in shopping locally. We need to help those small shops who are struggling. The big guys will do ok. I love what you purchased. What great finds! Martha
Sorry to hear about your favorite store closing. Where one door closes, another one opens. =) Love that painted vintage hanger by the way.
I love your beautiful treasures! It's so sad to see favorite places, that we love, go away.
It is so sad that these wonderful vintage stores seem to be closing at an astonishing rate. We have one close by that is closing now as well. Just breaks my heart,
Pat

Some of my favorite vintage shops have also closed. The economy has made things so difficult. It's also getting more and more difficult for dealers to find affordable treasures out there.
Becca, Saw on Amy's blog comments and in this post that you shop at her shop in
Tipp. I live in the Dayton area- you must be pretty close, as well? Love her store, too. off to peruse your site...
